Abstract

The subject of this contribution is Boccaccio’s De mulieribus claris and the vulgarization by Donato Albanzani, with an in-depth study of the biographical genre. The study of the work’s variants is functional in identifying the characteristic features of the model used by the vulgarizer. First of all, however, it is appropriate to return to the editorial events of the work, also in light of the various inaccuracies found in the recent bibliography.
