Abstract
The introduction articulates the themes of the study while offering some concluding remarks. After a general and methodological survey, first the fundamental historical problems behind the first panel (Frontières, échanges et relations politiques) are presented, and then the main cultural-historical themes of the second panel (Circulation des écrits et regards littéraires croisés) are discussed.
