Petrucci alle Tremiti

Abstract

This paper deals with Armando Petrucci’s studies on the Tremiti Islands, from his earliest researches, published in dailies and journals, to his remarkable edition of the Cartulary of the Abbey of Santa Maria in Tremiti. Petrucci’s total approach to the history of written culture, which will open up new aspects of research in this field, is clear ever since he was a student at the University of Rome and was already well acquainted with the general theory and method of textual criticism (Paul Maas, Giorgio Pasquali).
