Abstract

Leopardi has been Blasucci’s best-loved and most studied author, as evidenced by the dedication and expertise he has demonstrated over a long period of time, thanks to which he has undoubtedly been able to present himself as one of the most prestigious specialists in the field. One criterion that has inspired his research over the years is balance, which is necessary to master the complexity of such a multifaceted author and to place in the correct setting a poetry characterised by an ambivalent relationship with tradition, made up of deference and transgression. In view of the integral comprehension of a book as stratified and composite as the Canti, Blasucci has always tried to carefully avoid the risk of unilaterality, valorising in particular the diversity of registers and results of leopardian poetry, whose canon he has strongly contributed to broaden, and avoiding giving in to reductive simplifications, aimed at enclosing the meaning of such an articulated work in single unifying categories.
