Studi Comparatistici, Filologia e Antropologia. Intorno a Poesia e magia di Anita Seppilli
Contenuto principale dell'articolo
Abstract
This essay provides an insight into the history of nineteenth-century comparative studies before the ‘new wave’ of Culturalism, through the figure and the work of the eminent scholar Anita Seppilli, classicist, comparatist and anthropologist of literature(s). My analysis is mainly focused on Seppilli’s most famous chef-d’oeuvre, Poesia e magia, a book as renowned and worshipped as consigned to forgetfulness by post-culturalist comparative scholarship.
