Il lutto (non) si addice a Moresco

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the themes of death and mourning in the novels and plays written by Antonio Moresco (especially, Merda e luce and La santa). The focus will be on the relationship between the Anthropocene – the era of the human annihilation – and the absence of the grieving process. The loss of a loved one is usually followed by a funeral and various grief rituals but when the mass extinction will happen, who will celebrate the funeral of the whole humanity?
